CHILD PROTECTION

JCSDO believes that marginalized children are necessarily required to be protected. We work to raise awareness of child labor and engage with communities on the importance of sending children to school instead of to work. Child labor is a persistent issue in Mon communities, as school can be costly for many families, and the regulations are very relaxed. Our staff conduct livelihood training to help families generate enough income to be able to afford to send their children to school. Disadvantaged children are also provided with school supplies. These seemingly simple actions have a significant impact on helping children get to school and stay out of the workplace.
