The Women Competency project’s primary activity area is working to raise awareness of the barriers women face, security management, peacebuilding, crisis management, sexual and reproductive health, and rights, to foster grassroots movement in participating and leading, to gear up women reaching meaningful participation and to engage with women at the community level if the funding is available. The JCSDO as well as strives to provide emergency shelter to women and children escaping dangerous home environments, and has goals to increase services and develop income-generation activities. This project brings information and ideas about gender equity and democratic values to rural, marginalized areas.
